Comcast operates the nation’s largest, fastest, most trusted network. Through Xfinity and Comcast Business, we deliver world-class broadband, mobile, and entertainment experiences that delight customers with technology that powers the future. Our commitment to New Jersey is strong, serving more than 340 municipalities and investing more than $4.1 billion in the last three years through capital expenditures, employee wages and benefits, taxes and fees and nonprofit contributions.

Reliability

Trusted by mission-critical organizations in New Jersey like NJ Transit, Comcast’s network powers essential community resources and businesses large and small. More than 2.6 million properties in New Jersey can access Xfinity and Comcast Business services, with ongoing expansions to new communities like Dunellen, Edison and Phillipsburg.

As Internet usage continues to skyrocket, Comcast’s network continues to get smarter, faster and more reliable to meet increasing customer demand for speed and capacity. That means enough capacity to handle more streaming, gaming, AI and cloud applications.

We continuously invest in and innovate our network to keep it resilient, secure and future-ready. Since 2019, we have invested more than $20 billion nationally in network infrastructure and technology. Our fiber-rich network delivers gig-speeds across our New Jersey footprint and across the country – and we continue our journey to roll out multi-gig symmetrical speeds over existing connections in homes today.

Security

While there has been a 300% increase in cyber-attacks since the start of the pandemic, Comcast builds security into every layer of our network and products, protecting connected devices automatically.

Our team of thousands of cybersecurity analysts and engineers block tens of billions of cyber-attacks every year.

Response to Natural Disasters

Following natural disasters, we quickly and safely restore service, often opening hotspots and deploying Storm Team One, which includes hundreds of engineers and technicians ready to assist neighbors across the country. Our skilled workforce of 130,000 professionals across engineering, customer care and more support areas in need.

Community Impact

Comcast is committed to creating positive change and a more equitable society through Project UP, our $1 billion commitment to advance digital opportunity and help build a future of unlimited possibilities. Since 2021, we have donated more than $17 million in cash and in-kind contributions to New Jersey non-profits working to bridge the digital divide.

In addition to monetary grants, New Jersey residents also benefit from access to 33 Lift Zones across New Jersey. Lift Zones provide a robust, and free, WiFi solution in neighborhood locations like nonprofits, community centers and parks and recreation facilities.

Since 2011, we have connected a cumulative total of more than 10 million people nationally, including 496,000 New Jersey residents, to the Internet at home through Internet Essentials, our affordable, high-speed Internet for low-income families.

Connecting All of New Jersey

New Jersey is one of the most connected states in the nation, with 99% of residents having broadband access. Cumberland County residents enjoy availability of Comcast’s state-of-the-art network in most areas, but some rural pockets remain unconnected. We’re demonstrating what effective public-private partnerships can look like by partnering with Hopewell and Maurice River townships to reach those homes and businesses. Comcast is also actively seeking to participate in the Capital Project Fund (CPF) and Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) bid process in New Jersey to ensure every resident can access the power of broadband at home.

Working together with state and local officials, Comcast is eager to continue to serve New Jersey and ultimately achieve 100% connectivity across the state in the fastest, most cost-effective way.
