Sherita Ceasar, Senior VP of Technology, Environments and Strategy at Comcast, joined Wharton Business Daily on SiriusXM discuss how Comcast promotes diversity, equity and inclusion with our internal and external stakeholders.
In her role, Sherita is responsible for the strategy, design, build and support of Comcast’s engineering laboratory operations and strategic planning for technical facilities supporting technology and product roadmaps for over 1,600 headends and hubs across Comcast. Not only has she been integral in developing innovative solutions for the company, but in her role as an executive champion of the Black Employee Network (BEN), Sherita has been a leader in championing diversity and inclusion at Comcast.
Throughout the interview, Sherita gives clear examples of how companies can meaningfully incorporate diversity, equity and inclusion practices, and drive true impact. She notes Comcast engages its employees through Employee Resource Groups, including BEN. In this model, culture, career, commerce and community are used to enhance the experiences of employees through education, personal and professional growth, and ensuring that our employees reflect the communities we serve.
Sherita notes how the company has been working for over a decade to improve digital equity and lower the digital divide, but that the company doubled down on these commitments in June with our $100 million investment to help create a more equitable, just and inclusive society. Most recently, this commitment includes the announcement of Comcast RISE and the Comcast RISE Investment Fund, which is bringing financial support, technology upgrades and more to BIPOC-owned small businesses, which have been hardest hit by the pandemic.
