Comcast Employees Team UP for Camp Out for Hunger Food Drive

Comcast employees outside the 2025 Camp Out for Hunger drop off.

This year marks 12 years since Comcast began participating in the Preston & Steve Show’s Camp Out for Hunger. In that time, our team’s passion and commitment to supporting the cause has only grown.

Helping our neighbors in need is as important as ever, so once again Comcast teams rallied together to support Philabundance, a Community Impact partner of ours and one of the largest hunger-relief organizations in the Delaware Valley.

Internal chats were filled with images from huddles and meetings where mountains of canned goods challenged us all to go bigger. In addition to in-office collections across our regional and corporate headquarters, we had many ways for our employees and members of the community to give:

  • Employees from across our regional operations and corporate campus supported the drive with virtual contributions to Philabundance through Comcast NBCUniversal’s Matching Gift Program. We made it a family affair, joining forces with NBC10 and Comcast Spectacor employees this year, too.
  • Donation bins were available at our Xfinity Stores enabling customers to bring in food. Once again, we partnered with WMMR to also include QR codes on our in-store donation bins, enabling easy monetary donations to Philabundance as well.
  • For the fourth year, Comcast employees volunteered to help unload donations during shifts at this year’s Camp Out for Hunger as part of Team UP – our year-long volunteerism program.

We were honored to celebrate last year’s achievement as the second-place business donor with the late, great Pierre Robert, WMMR’s legendary mid-day DJ, at our Villanova Xfinity Store – a moment we were fortunate to have and will not soon forget.

These contributions filled two Xfinity trucks alongside dozens of supportive teammates that showed up to celebrate our efforts.

Between donations from employees and regional operations teams including NBC10 and Comcast Spectacor, combined with a special gift of $50,000 from our Corporate Community Impact team, our donation surpassed more than 492,000 pounds!

Freedom Region’s Dan Bonelli, Regional Senior Vice President, and Jennifer Bilotta, Vice President of Communications, joined Preston & Steve for a live, on-air interview on the final day of Camp Out for Hunger to announce our donation total!

Comcast donations to Camp Out for Hunger since 2014 now exceeds more than 2.4 million pounds of food! Huge thank you to our employees, and the community, for rallying around this important cause.
