Comcast Celebrates the Expansion of Xfinity and Comcast Business Services in Middletown, DE

Comcast hosted a community event in Middletown, DE, to celebrate the expansion of our reliable, high-speed symmetrical Internet to more homes and businesses. We’re making great progress with our network expansion, which will ultimately reach 13,000 homes and businesses in the Town of Middletown. This expansion brings Internet, mobile, entertainment, and security services from Xfinity and Comcast Business to residents and businesses for the first time.
The family-friendly event at Volunteer Brewing Company featured free food from Out of the Ordinary Catering and Kona Ice of South New Castle, yard games, drink specials, and more, providing an opportunity for community members to connect with Xfinity and Comcast Business representatives and learn more about our best-in-class products and services.
“We are thrilled to welcome Comcast to the town as they bring their powerful network and technology solutions to our community,” said Mayor Ken Branner. “This investment in our infrastructure is not only about better connectivity but also about building a stronger, more sustainable future.”

“Comcast’s network expansion is especially beneficial to our small businesses, students, and remote workers. Their investment is a significant step towards promoting economic growth and improving the quality of life for our residents,” said Michelle Hummel, Chief Executive Officer of the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce.
Christopher Chapman, a Middletown resident, shared his positive experience with switching to Xfinity. “After eight years with my previous provider, I decided to make the switch to Xfinity. I was excited when I started seeing Xfinity technicians around my complex,” he said. “Hearing from many of my neighbors who were making the switch, too, was encouraging. My technician was a great guy, installation went smoothly, and my TV and Internet services are working great, so I’m thrilled with my decision.”
“We are excited to bring our fast, reliable and secure network to more residents and businesses in the area,” said Dan Bonelli, Comcast Freedom Region’s Senior Regional Vice President. “Beyond connectivity, when Comcast partners with a community we also bring our award-winning entertainment platform, a wireless service that is designed to save our Internet customers money on their cellular bills, and a commitment to advancing digital opportunity.”
During the event, Comcast presented a check for $25,000 to Warriors Helping Warriors, a local nonprofit committed to serving veterans in need. The donation is part of Project UP, Comcast’s $1 billion initiative to connect people to the Internet, create digital opportunity and build a future of unlimited possibilities. “This donation will allow us to keep making a difference in the lives of veterans who need it the most,” said Marsha Conley and Retired Lt. Col. Bill Conley.

Residents can visit Xfinity.com/mytown and enter their addresses for additional details on construction timing and upcoming service availability. They can also stop by local Xfinity Stores in the Christiana Mall in Newark, or in Dover, to learn more about products and services.
