Comcast Comes to Greater Phillipsburg: What Locals Are Saying About Their New Services

Sharron was a nearly-20-year Xfinity customer before moving to Phillipsburg. After a year with another provider, she was able to make the switch back to Xfinity thanks to Comcast’s recent expansion to the Greater Phillipsburg area, which will ultimately bring Xfinity and Comcast Business services to more than 15,700 additional homes and businesses. One thing is for sure, she’s happy to have the Xfinity Voice Remote back.

“As an older adult, I’m not afraid of technology, but I have my limitations,” Sharron explained. “Before, I had to spend too much time searching around for content. I love how simple Xfinity is to use, and I love that my voice remote takes me to what I want to watch.”

Sharron also couldn’t say enough kind things about the Comcast teammates she encountered while making the switch back to Xfinity. First, the sales representative, who visited her complex to introduce residents to Comcast’s offerings. Being immune compromised, she appreciated that the representative was able to connect with her separately to answer questions and talk her through the process. Then, she knew she was in good hands with her technician, a 25-year Comcast veteran.

“Everyone [at Comcast] was nice, everyone did right by me, and the prices were better than my previous carrier – something many of my neighbors are saying as well since they made the switch – so I’m happy now with Xfinity,” Sharron added.

Getting new Phillipsburg customers up-and-running wouldn’t be possible without the amazing team of sales representatives that help customers identify the right package for their needs, as well as the dedicated technicians who create truly great experiences for these first-time, or returning, customers.

Carlos Garcia, an Xfinity technician of nearly ten years, enjoys serving new expansion areas where he often finds residents eagerly waiting for Xfinity trucks to arrive for installation. Many new customers share how thrilled they are that Xfinity services are finally available in their area.

“It’s great to see customers who are so enthusiastic about our products and services,” Garcia said. “They appreciate the high speeds and reliable Internet we provide along with the many features our products offer, like our voice remote or our one-stop-shop Xfinity app. Whenever I finish an installation for a new customer and start discussing all the great benefits that come with their service, their faces light up – they can’t believe it.”

Before a customer’s service is installed, they often meet a sales representative like Marcellus Green, whose job is to let residents know when services come to their area. He has seen the same excitement as Garcia, noting how eager Greater Phillipsburg area residents have been about a new provider in town.

“I love my job,” Green shared. “I’m proud to work for Comcast and really enjoy interacting with this community. It’s a great feeling to speak with a customer and be able to put them at ease. The customers I’ve spoken with are happy to have a provider who cares about them and makes them feel seen. It gives me a great sense of accomplishment.”
