Through the COVID-19 crisis, Comcast Business customer Nick’s Roast Beef has been able to remain open serving delivery and takeout because of the reliability of its Comcast Business internet and voice solutions. Without that lifeline, the popular Philly sports bar would not be able to keep its doors open, let alone give back to the community through weekly food donations to those in need.
Nick’s Roast Beef has been serving up good food since 1969. When COVID-19 began forcing people to remain inside, their Cottman Avenue and Woodhaven Road locations that typically entertain busy crowds at their bars and in their dining rooms, had to quickly divert service to delivery and takeout only.
With Nick’s able to remain in business, what they did next demonstrates why they are a true City of Brotherly Love institution: Knowing how many community members are facing hard times in the wake of this pandemic, Nick’s Roast Beef made a commitment to provide free meals to local Philadelphia area residents.
Since April 16, Nick’s has given away more than 6,000 meals to help feed those in need. Giving away hot meals has been a way for Nick’s to show appreciation to the community for their continued support while also supporting many community members in need
“What Nick’s is doing to help feed our local community is amazing,” said Michael Louden, Vice President of Business Services for Comcast’s Freedom Region. “We’re thrilled that our services help them remain viable and able to give back in that way.”
