Comcast unveiled a new, 42,000 square-foot facility in Camden County on Friday, November 18th. The CommOps Center of Excellence at 400 White Horse Road, Voorhees, NJ, is home to nearly 250 communications operations employees that provide real-time support for Comcast technicians in the field.
The Center of Excellence expands Comcast’s footprint at 400 White Horse Road where more than 400 customer care employees have worked since 2001. In total, Comcast employs more than 4,500 full time employees in New Jersey, working out of more than 100 facilities.
“We are creating an environment for folks to do their best work and focus on the 2000 techs they support in the field, so that they can deliver the best possible customer experience,” said Freedom Region Senior Vice President Jim Samaha.
CommOps employees previously were split between Voorhees and Aston, PA. Operations were consolidated to the new Voorhees facility to foster teamwork, standardize operations and encourage a more collaborative environment which will ultimately enhance the customer experience during installations and trouble calls for more than 2 million households served by the region.
Designed with environmental sustainability in mind, the new facility features a soaring ceiling and an open floor plan as well as the latest tools and technology including floor-to-ceiling video walls; ergonomic, sit-stand work stations, and customized iPad docking stations for utilizing proprietary applications alongside dual display monitors.
“Our team takes great pride in providing the best possible service for our internal customers,” said Angela Kyler, Freedom Region VP, Workforce Operations. “With the new Center of Excellence, our partners will benefit from increased support and coverage, more timely and accurate support, and consistent communication.”
The new Center also includes amenities that are important in creating a productive work environment, such as an exercise center, cafeteria, convenient on-site parking, public transit access, specifically designed collaboration and meeting spaces and the nearby availability of shopping venues and restaurants.
