Comcast Joins ‘Rebuilding Together,’ HGTV/DIY Network for Veterans Day Remodel

In honor of Veterans Day, on Wednesday, November 11, members of Comcast’s veterans’ network joined Rebuilding Together Philadelphia and Scripps Network HGTV/DIY Network to help renovate the home of Sandra Lee, widow of World War II veteran Charles Lee.

Charles was with the 858 Engineers Aviation Battalion in Burma from 1941-1944 and then joined the Fighting 99th branch of the Tuskegee Airmen. Charles and Sandra’s daughter, Nymiura, followed in her father’s footsteps and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves from 2005-2007, and again from 2008-2014.

Sandra and Nymiura have been unable to keep up with needed repairs in the home, which has been in the family since 1959. Comcast, Rebuilding and HGTV/DIY pitched in to renovate the West Kensington home with a new roof, floors and electric, mold remediation in the basement, and new paint.
